Privacy notice

Scope

This notice applies to information handled through embok.ca, including the contact form and the self-guided Marketing Operations assessment. It does not automatically cover a separate client engagement, which should have its own agreement and privacy terms.

Information we receive

• Contact details and business information you choose to submit, such as name, work email, organization, role, and message.
• Assessment interactions needed to calculate and display your result. The free assessment is designed to operate in the browser unless you deliberately submit or request that information through a connected feature.
• Limited technical and usage information supplied by the hosting platform and any analytics tools that are actually enabled, such as device type, approximate region, referring domain, page path, and performance signals.
• Security and delivery records needed to prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, and confirm whether a contact message was accepted by the email provider.

Please do not include confidential customer data, sensitive personal information, credentials, or regulated data in a contact message or assessment response.

How information is used

• Respond to a request and determine an appropriate assessment, diagnostic, or roadmap conversation.
• Deliver and improve the website, assessment, resources, accessibility, and operational reliability.
• Protect the service against spam, misuse, security threats, and delivery failures.
• Measure aggregate product and content performance when approved analytics are enabled.
• Meet applicable legal obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal rights where necessary.

Transactional follow-up to a request is separate from marketing consent. EMBOK should not add a person to promotional communications solely because they submitted the assessment or contact form.

Service providers

The website is hosted on Vercel. Contact messages are delivered through Resend. These providers may process limited information on EMBOK's behalf to host the site, secure requests, and deliver email. Any analytics, scheduling, storage, or customer-relationship provider added later must be reflected here before or when it is enabled.

Requires legal review: Confirm provider agreements, processing locations, subprocessors, and any required cross-border transfer language.

Retention and security

EMBOK intends to retain personal information only as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose described, an active business relationship, security, recordkeeping, or applicable law. Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards should be used, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Requires legal review: Publish approved retention periods for contact requests, provider logs, analytics, and client records, together with the deletion and backup process.

Your choices and requests

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, or delete personal information, or to withdraw consent where processing depends on consent. Some requests may be limited by legal, security, or recordkeeping requirements. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.

Requires legal review: Add an approved privacy email or other method that accepts requests from any individual, including people who do not have a company email address. Confirm the applicability of Canadian federal/provincial and other regional privacy laws.

Updates to this notice

This notice may change as the EMBOK product, providers, and legal obligations evolve. The reviewed date will be updated when a material revision is published.

Language preference

EMBOK may store the functional preference embok_locale on this device so the site can remember the language you selected. It is not used for advertising or to infer personal characteristics.
